Information about Organic Cotton:

SAVES WATER. Like hemp and bamboo, organic cotton saves water! Most organic cotton is rain-fed and not irrigated. Because organic cotton is a rotation crop, the soil maintains its nutrients and is better able to hold water in. Regular cotton is usually the sole crop planted, so it depletes the soil, and leaves the soil less capable of holding water. This means more water (or mass irrigation) is needed to make it grow. Regular cotton uses 3,000 cubic meters more of water per acre to grow than organic cotton.

AVOID THE CHEMICALS. Organic farmers use all kinds of natural tricks to grow and harvest organic cotton, such as using "trap crops" to entice the little pests away from the good stuff, and waiting for seasonal freezes to defoliate the crops. In 2000, 84 million pounds of pesticides were sprayed on only 14.4 million acres of conventional cotton, making cotton one of the highest using pesticides productions in the US. By contrast, organic cotton is grown on soil that has been chemical free for at least three years.

While the shirt is laying flat and in a relaxed state, the first measurement is the width of the shirt directly under the armpits. The second measurement is the length of the shirt going down the front center starting at the top of the collar down to the bottom of the hem. We strongly urge you to find your favorite same-style, perfect fitting shirt and make the same measurements to be sure you get the shirt that is closest to your size.
